Siege Of Quebec, Assimilate headline early Chairman's Racing Prospects entries

Stakes-performed 3YO colts Siege Of Quebec (Fastnet Rock) and Assimilate (Sebring) highlight the early entries for The Chairman’s Sale Racing Prospects.

James Harron Bloodstock has entered three horses for the April 5 auction, including $1.2m Easter purchase and twice Stakes-placed Siege Of Quebec, who has won three of his seven career starts.

Siege Of Quebec’s strongest performance was a second placing behind Group 1 winner Kementari in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes last month.

He also finished a close-up fifth in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas at his most recent start earlier this month.

Harron’s other entries are three-time winning 3YO Snitzel colt Hypnotist and lightly raced metropolitan-winning 3YO Exceed And Excel colt Almighty.

After topping last year’s Chairman’s Sale when selling Gunnison for $1.4m, Harron believed he was again offering top quality horses for this year’s edition.

“The Chairman’s Sale has revolutionised the selling of top-class racing prospects, for which there is huge demand both domestically and internationally, offering a wonderfully transparent system which benefits both vendors and purchasers,’’ Harron said.

“I urge anyone who is interested in the colts we are offering to come and inspect them at Inglis Riverside as they are all superb physical types.’’

Siege Of Quebec (confirmed Hong Kong special replacement, rating HK85), Hypnotist (qualified as a Hong Kong PP import with a HK75 rating) and Almighty (qualified for a Hong Kong PP import at HK70 rating) are sure to prove attractive to both domestic and Asian markets.

The Harron Bloodstock draft will be available for inspection at Riverside Stables from Monday April 2.

Last start Listed Canberra Guineas winner Assimilate (pictured) has been entered for the sale by Newgate Farm (as agent for The Assimilate Syndicate).

Assimilate has won three of his seven starts and was Group 3-placed when finishing second to Addictive Nature in the Group 3 Ming Dynasty Handicap last spring.

He also finished fifth to Trapeze Artist in last year’s Group 1 Golden Rose.

Newgate’s Henry Field described Assimilate as “an extremely talented colt”.

“He’s proven himself on the track in his limited starts for our syndicate and he’s got a massive amount of upside,’’ Field said.

Assimilate will be available for inspection at Peter and Paul Snowden’s Randwick stables in the lead-up to the sale.

Both Almighty and Assimilate won barrier trials at Randwick yesterday.

Entries for The Chairman’s Sale Racing Prospects close this coming Thursday, March 29, at 10am.
