Sun Classique colt added to Easter entries

The first foal of Group 1 international conqueror Sun Classique has been added to the star-studded entries received for the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

A colt by leading European sire Oasis Dream, the outstanding mare’s first offspring will be offered for sale by Patinack Farm in April.

Champion 3YO Filly of South Africa and Champion Older Mare of UAE, Sun Classique won the equivalent of $4.2million on the track before being covered in England by Oasis Dream to Southern Hemisphere time, exported to Australia and sold to Patinack Farm for $2million at Inglis’ 2010 Australian Easter Broodmare Sale.

“Patinack Farm will be out to make its mark as sellers of top quality prospects at Australia’s leading yearling sales in 2012, and this colt exemplifies our commitment to offering buyers the best foals off our farm,” said Patinack Farm Stud Manager Ben Lawrence.

“From the day he was foaled down on our Sandy Hollow property he has been a regarded as one of the best foals Patinack has produced, with the strength and athleticism that made his mother and father two of the best racehorses of their generation”.

Patinack’s Easter nominations also include the first foals of Group 1 MRC Thousand Guineas winner Serious Speed and Canonbury Stakes flyer Danehill Smile, along with a full sister to last Saturday’s Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes winner Trusting.

Patinack Farm stallion Casino Prince sired this year’s Easter Yearling Sale topper, a half-brother to Black Caviar, and the Flying Spur stallion will again be well represented at the 2012 renewal, including colts from Balcanny, Curvaceous, Showeranasherry and Boudi Woudi.

“We made a concerted effort to purchase quality young mares straight off-the-track to put to our stallions or in-foal to top sires, and next year’s yearlings will be a direct result of those decisions”, Lawrence said.

In addition to a strong draft for Easter, Patinack will also be supporting Inglis' Melbourne Premier and Sydney Classic Yearling Sales in 2012, with their stallions Wonderful World, Husson, Murtajill and Casino Prince to be represented at all three select sales.

“Patinack have experienced great success as buyers at Inglis Yearling Sales, with purchases such as Onemorenomore, Small Minds and Pane In The Glass, and we look forward to the operation having a big impact as vendors next year,” said Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

Vendors still wishing to enter Inglis’ 2012 Select Yearling Sale Series can download Entry Forms for from each of the sale pages or utilise the Inglis Online Entry facility.
