Tinszelda wins $100,000 Inglis 2YO Challenge at Scone

Electric youngster Tinszelda took out the $100,000 Inglis 2YO Challenge over 1100m at Scone on Friday, collecting three times her purchase price in first place prizemoney for her three length romp.

Coming into the race with two wins from two previous starts Tinszelda ($19,000 2011 Scone, 2f Snitzel-Kirby’s Song), dominated today’s lucrative juvenile feature in the Hunter Valley under jockey Dale Spriggs for trainer Rodney Northam, defeating a capacity field with Centrepet and Soapy Star filling the placings.

Bred and raised by Arrowfield Stud, the daughter of Snitzel was purchased by Northam at last year’s Inglis H.T.B.A Scone Yearling Sale for $19,000 and collected $60,000 from Inglis and $20,000 from BOBS for today’s win, a great result for all her connections.

From Canada’s Champion 3YO filly of 1998 Kirby’s Song, today’s winner gave Rodney Northam his second $100,000 Inglis 2YO Challenge win in three years, after training Okane to win the race in 2010.

This year’s Inglis H.T.B.A Scone Yearling Sale is being conducted over one select day on Sunday 20 May 2012, starting at 10:30am. 210 yearlings have been catalogued for the great value sale including three yearlings by Snitzel, the sire of today’s Inglis Challenge winner.
