Tres Bien! France overpowers rivals in Inglis 3YO Guineas

Redoute’s Choice colt France came from last to outgun his opposition and win today’s $400,000 Restricted Listed Inglis 3YO Guineas (1400m) at Scone.

Ridden patiently by Tye Angland, France made a sweeping run down the outside to edge past Prized Icon in the final strides.

Spright finished third.

France will now be sent to Queensland for the winter carnival, according to part owner Henry Field of Newgate Farm.

“There’s an abundance of options for him up there,’’ Field said.

“He’s come from the back and run past a Group 1 Victoria Derby winner today, so there’s no doubting he’s a very talented colt.

“The Inglis Race Series is such a brilliant concept, backed up by fantastic prizemoney, and it’s a thrill to win this race with this up-and-coming colt.’’

Winning trainers Peter and Paul Snowden also claimed a pair of Swarovski Optik binoculars for the victory, as all winning trainers of Inglis Race Series events do.

France (Redoute’s Choice x Miss Marielle) was a $475,000 purchase for China Horse Club/Michael Wallace Bloodstock at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale, from the Newhaven Park draft.

He has now won almost $300,000 from just six career starts.

The next Inglis sale is the HTBA Scone Yearling Sale and Scone Weanling and Thoroughbred Sale, which runs for two days starting tomorrow, Sunday May 14 at White Park.
