Updates for Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale

The two day 2012 Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale gets underway tomorrow, Thursday 16 August, after a number of the lots set to be sold received timely pedigree updates over the weekend.

Lady Cairns, a half-sister to the dam of Group 3 VRC Aurie’s Star Handicap winner Shanghai Warrior (pictured), is just one of the 372 lots that have been catalogued for this week’s sale. Entries include 130 broodmares, 16 yearlings, 8 unbroken stock, 125 racefillies and mares, plus 93 race colts and geldings.

Recent pedigree updates for the Melbourne Sale include:-

Lot 43 – Rain In Settain – The dam of Clinton McDonald’s recent Canterbury winner Umatain. Being sold in foal to Astronomer Royal.

Lot 110 – Lady Cairns – A half-sister to the dam of Group 3 VRC Aurie’s Star Handicap winner Shanghai Warrior

Lot 216 – Ravenous Lass – Half-sister to Hawkesbury and ATC (Newcastle) winner City of Light

Buyers at this week’s Melbourne Sale will also be given the opportunity to buy straight into a city runner, with entries Let’s Be Happy and Simply Put to be offered with acceptances to race this very Saturday at Caulfield.

Selling will start after the First Season Sires Parade at 12noon on Thursday, with Online Bidding and Make-An-Offer services available for those buyers unable to attend the Oaklands complex.
