Vinery Stud Dispersal

6th Feb 2005

"The most significant dispersal of Bloodstock ever to be offered in Australia"

This is how Reg Inglis, Managing Director of William Inglis & Son Ltd described the announcement last Friday of Vinery Stud's Dispersal Sale to be held at "Newmarket" on Sunday April 3rd.

Dr Tommy Simon bought the best bloodlines he could from around the world making the Vinery mares one of the leading broodmare bands in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mares of the calibre of Mannington, Compulsion, Rose of Danehill, Damaschino, Rose of War, Lady Jakeo, French Bid, Zacheline and Sorrento will be on offer along with the dams of Snowland, Knowledge, Able Choice, Trezevant, Demerger and the exciting Silver Slipper winner Domesday. These mares would be a welcome addition to any stud in the world.

We have already had a number of leading Australian and overseas buyers contact us since the announcement was made last Friday indicating that they will be present at the sale this year.

Reg Inglis also commented that he was delighted to see that Vinery would continue operating as a Thoroughbred Stud standing such highly credentailled stallions as Red Ransom, More than Ready and Mosman. This also creates a wonderful opportunity for breeders to base their mares in the heart of the Hunter Valley on one of Australia's leading studs.
