Warren Has 100,000 Reasons To Go North

Racing And Sports - Tuesday, 5 May 2009

Astute young Mornington trainer Jason Warren is hoping for a big pay day at Hawkesbury this Saturday with last start winner Mayweather as he chases the lucrative $100,000 Inglis Race Series Bonus on the clubs 2yo feature.

Melbourne Premier graduate Mayweather is having his third crack at an Inglis Race Series event this season after lining up in the Inglis Juvenile at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate day and the Inglis Bonus race at Mornington in February.

"In the two Inglis Races so far we've run into some smart one's like Starspangledbanner and Tale Of Love. With more prizemoney on offer for us at Hawkesbury then in most stakes races it makes sense to target a race like Saturday's." says Warren.

Some shrewd planning by Gary Portelli allowed Delago Bolt to repay his purchase price three times over when taking home a $100,000 Inglis Race Series bonus at Rosehill earlier this year, and the Warwick Farm trainer is hoping to strike again with the speedy Sheeznodoubt in the same event.

A victory by Sheeznodoubt would take Portelli to the lead for the $50,000 trainers bonus for the most series wins.
