Well Related Mares To Be Sold At Christmas Thoroughbred Sale

10th Nov 2008

The catalogue for next month’s Inglis Sydney Christmas Thoroughbred Sale, set down for Friday December 5, is now online, featuring a number of mares closely related to some key feature race winners of recent weeks.

A large supplementary entry of mares and racehorses will also be added, with vendors still having time to submit those entries.

Recent results highlight a number of horses in the catalogue.

Inglis Classic graduate Our Joan Of Arc (Beautiful Crown) is already a dual stakes winner and one of the early favourites for next year’s Golden Slipper.

Lot 49 is Aspire, her lightly raced year older half-sister by General Nediym.

Lot 55 is La Dee La, a four-year-old mare by Rock Of Gibraltar from La Baraka to be offered by Kitchwin Hills (Click here for photos), who in turn is from the multiple G1 winner Triscay. Another grand daughter of Triscay, Readyor (by More Than Ready) made a huge impression with her highly impressive debut win at Randwick on Saturday.

Also in the catalogue is a half-sister to this year’s G1 Sydney Cup winner No Wine No Song.

Rothwell Park is preparing a fine draft of eight very well related mares for this sale (Click here for photos).

These include Lot 18 Caramella, a half sister to the dam of G2 winner and Saturday’s G1 runner-up Sea Battle, in foal to Ad Valorem and Lot 23 Anna Marta, an Anabaa half sister to G1 Metropolitan winner Newport, in foal to first season stallion Excellent art.

Dai Ichi (Lot 19), a G3 placed mare in foal in her first season to Bernardini who is booked out. Lot 21 Princess Bayley, a daughter of G1 performer Rose Of Dane, is also in foal to Bernardini.

Other Rothwell entries include Secret Revenue (Lot 17), a full sister to G2 WA Guineas winner The Right Money, in foal to Lonhro, Apocrypha (Lot 20), a daughter of G1 VRC Oaks winner Tributes in foal to Commands (the resultant foal will be in bred to Eight Carat) and Lot 22 Artina, a city winning mare by in form sire Street Cry.

The catalogue also includes a number of yearlings by proven sires like Choisir and Testa Rossa, along with exciting freshman Elvstroem.

The racing prospects include half relations to Group 1 winners Lotteria and Devil Moon.

“We are very pleased with the quality of the broodmare section of the sale and remind buyers that the Inglis online bidding facility will be in operation for the sale if people can’t make it to Sydney,” Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said.

Selling is set to begin from 11am. Supplementaries for the catalogue will close Friday November 28.
