A clearance of 92% and trade over $1million highlighted the 2012 Melbourne March Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands.
Top price of the sale was achieved in the Supplementary section of the catalogue for lot 250, Danahere, a dual city winning daughter of Dehere purchased by Mileshan Nominees which sold for $40,000.
Also in the Supplementary was the second highest priced lot, Flying Spur mare Espuela with a Statue Of Liberty colt at foot and in foal to Wanted sold for $35,000.
A total of 221 lots sold for $1,011,650 during the March Thoroughbred Sale. 49% of lots attracted an online bid with 30 lots sold online.
Victorian Manager Peter Heagney commented “I was pleased to see the success of the Select Racehorse Sale carried through to this sale with good competition on any racehorse with current form. There was also demand for quality broodmares as is evidenced by the top three priced lots.”
