Headed by Group 2 winner Tanby the unreserved draft from Team Williams was well sought after at the 2014 Inglis Melbourne Select Racehorse Sale at Oaklands.

A 99% clearance rate was recorded at the sale with active buyers from the ACT, Hong Kong, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.

Nine of the top 10 priced lots at the sale were sold by Team Williams, with their whole draft of 25 lots realising $804,500.

“I would again like to thank Nick and Lloyd Williams for their great support of Inglis’ sales, and wish the best of luck to the buyers at this sale which ventured from all parts of Australia,” said Inglis Melbourne Bloodstock Director Peter Heagney.

Tanby, a winner of the Group 2 Zipping Classic and Listed Bendigo Cup, topped the auction when selling to Bulla Thoroughbreds for $140,000 when offered by Lloyd and Nick Williams as Lot 47.

Marksmanship (Lot 17) was snapped by Ciaron Maher Racing for $120,000, while Aquanita purchased Livery (Lot 15) and Delivery (Lot 82) for $90,000 and $56,000 respectively.

Queensland based trainer John Wallace purchased two lots at the sale including Ranked (Lot 32) for $85,000.
