$100,000 Inglis Bonus Win For Crime Fighter

The connections of three-year-old Crime Fighter had a very lucrative day out at Moonee Valley on Saturday winning a $100,000 Inglis Race Series Bonus thanks to their galloper’s victory in the 2040m MVRC Kane Constructions Handicap.

Crime Fighter (Street Hero x Quiet Name) was a last start winner over a mile at the same track and he took another step up today, drawing away on the line for a decisive two and a half length win over Calendar Lad and Family Tree.

The gelding won over $190,000 for today’s win thanks to a $100,000 Inglis Race Series Bonus on top of the $91,000 of prizemoney, Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold Bonuses.

Crime Fighter was the top priced lot from Session II of the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale when selling to Moody Racing for $125,000 from Makybe’s draft. The three-year-old has earned over $246,000 in his 12 start career.

"He ran out the distance strongly today and he has always showed ability at home so it has been good to see him put it together of late. Hopefully he can continue to progress further now," said Moody’s stable representative Zac L'Hanson.

The Group 1 South Australian Derby is a likely target for Crime Fighter. Last year’s 2500m feature was won by fellow Inglis Premier Sale graduate Escado.
