The annual Scone Broodmare Sale attracted a strong buying bench to White Park today, with more than $1million in turnover generated.
In all, 132 mares were sold today for a gross of $1,011,450.
Underlining the strong competition across the entire catalogue, the sale concluded with an excellent clearance rate of 89%.
In addition to the strong domestic competition, buyers from New Zealand and the United States also secured mares today.
The highest priced lot was $90,000, offered by New Zealand based Michael Wallace Bloodstock for the Peintre Celebre mare L'Artiste, who was offered in foal to Vinery's Testa Rossa.
L'Artiste is a descendant of the great Denise's Joy family.
She was one of five mares to top the $50,000 mark today.
"The Scone Broodmare Sale has well and truly cemented its place as a permanent fixture on the annual sales calendar," Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D'Arcy said.
"With the excellent support from vendors, we were able to sell some lovely mares today and we had strong competition right throughout the sale, as evidenced by the high clearance rate."
Horses Passed In today are still available via the Inglis Make an Offer service.
The next sale on the Inglis calendar is the Sydney Spring Thoroughbred Sale, to be held at Newmarket on September 25.
Entry forms can be downloaded here, with entries closing on September 18.
