2005 Christmas Thoroughbred Sale

The William Inglis Christmas Thoroughbred Sale, boosted by the first draft from the dispersal of the Written Bloodstock Syndicate, concluded on a high note with a top price of $725,000 for the mare Perfect Promise (SAF). A gross of $3,046,436 was achieved for 144 horses sold – with just four horses being passed in.
“We are exceptionally pleased with the results of this sale, and we believe that this indicates an overall strength in the Australian bloodstock market right now,” said Inglis Managing Director Reg Inglis.
“We were confident that buyers would recognize the merit of the international pedigrees offered particularly as part of the Written Bloodstock dispersal and our confidence was not misplaced,” he added.
“We’re pleased to say that more horses of similar quality will be offered at the December Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne next Friday.”
Top price of $725,000 was for the Group One winning mare Perfect Promise, sold to Victorian based Ultra Thoroughbreds.
The December Thoroughbred Sale in Melbourne next Friday (December 2) begins at 11am with 50 broodmares, a further 32 fillies and mares in training, and 78 racehorses among a 180-strong catalogue.
Among a draft of 27 horses to be offered as part of the ongoing dispersal of Written Bloodstock is stakes placed 3yo filly Timeless Miss who will be offered in the supplementary catalogue.
