2007 WEANLING AND BROODMARE BONANZA

28th Feb 2007

Due to an overwhelming response from breeders, the 2007 William Inglis & Son Australian Weanling and Broodmare Sale has now been extended to five days. Capitalising on both the local and international buying bench that will be here for the 2007 William Inglis and Son Australian Easter Yearling Sale (10-12 April), the sale is sure to form part of what will arguably be a record breaking event.

Commencing on Sunday April 15 at 12 noon with the first of approximately 300 weanlings, the remaining consecutive four days of the sale will start at 10:30 am.

An impressive array of well related weanlings have been entered including a half-brother to dual Group One winner Diatribe by the exciting five time Group One winner Elvstroem, while the first offerings of Darley’s Champion European 2YO colt Shamardal (USA) includes a half-sister to Group One winner Ike’s Dream. A cracking Encosta de Lago colt, a three-quarter-brother to Group One winner Titanic Jackis also sure to command plenty of attention for keen buyers looking to capitalise on the yearling market in a year’s time.

All Group One winners on the track, Fastnet Rock, Charge Forward, Savabeel, Al Maher and the previously mentioned pair of Shamardal (USA) and Elvstroem lead an exciting line up of freshman sires to have their first crop go through the Weanling section of the Sale.

Enormous support from vendors has seen a substantial race fillies section of over 80 entries headed up by a contingent of stakes winners off the track. Proven producing mares, as well as young mares in foal to leading stallions, will form part of what will be a stellar catalogue of close to 900 mares.

With such an outstanding catalogue to be presented, William Inglis & Son have made a strong commitment to promote the sale not only to the local market, but to that of the international buying bench that will be assembled for the Easter Yearling Sale a few days prior.

“William Inglis & Son are delighted to be working closely with industry leaders Aushorse to promote the Australian horses throughout the world. We are confident that our many marketing forays across the globe as well as our strategically placed representatives in New Zealand, Europe, America, Hong Kong, Japan and South Africa will be able to generate plenty of interest in this year’s Easter extravaganza,” stated a confident Jonathan D’Arcy, William Inglis & Son Director.
