2008 William Inglis & Son Internship

7th Oct 2007

Applications for the 2008 William Inglis & Son Internship are due no later than close of business Wednesday October 31. With a swathe of applications already received, the popularity of the Internship is clearly evident.

An excellent opportunity to experience the workings of Australia’s leading thoroughbred auctioneer, the William Inglis & Son Internship will offer the successful applicant a 12 month understanding of every facet within the company.

A major portion of the time will be spent within the Bloodstock department of the company, while allocated periods will also see time spent gaining a fundamental understanding of the company’s extensive Insurance, Leasing and Marketing departments.

With the aim of the Internship to nurture an understanding of the thoroughbred industry, as a whole, the recipient will also spend time with industry leaders, gaining both a succinct understanding of pedigree and conformation selection which forms an integral part of the evaluation process of yearlings entered for the 2008 auction series.

Having a keen interest and understanding of the thoroughbred industry is a desirable trait, with the candidate also needing to demonstrate their ability to capitalise on this opportunity to make the transition to a future career path within the competitive thoroughbred industry.

The successful applicant will be entitled to a generous living allowance, as well as being given the opportunity for interstate travel between the Sydney and Melbourne offices.

Written applications should be submitted to Jonathan D’Arcy no later than Wednesday October 31, 2007 and should include a current C.V. along with a covering letter explaining why you feel you are a worthy candidate for this internship. Interviews will be conducted in November with the commencement of the Internship set for early January 2008.

The internship is open to Australian citizens only.
