3YOs chase $50,000 Inglis bonus this Sunday at Geelong

Racing Victoria - Friday, 19 August 2011

The first three-year-old event in the $2.6 million Inglis Race Series for nominated 2010 yearling sale graduates goes on offer at this Sunday’s Geelong Synthetic meeting, which was transferred from Seymour.

A $50,000 Bonus will be paid by Inglis to connections should the winner of the 0-72 3YO Handicap be nominated to the Inglis Race Series. In the past racing season alone, $700,000 in Inglis Bonuses were run and won by the lucky connections of Inglis Race Series nominated horses.

Ten of the capacity field of 12 plus emergencies are eligible to receive the $50,000 Inglis Bonus. These horses will be identified by wearing an Inglis blue saddlecloth in Sunday's event.

Over $104,000 could be collected for a win in Sunday's race combined with first place prizemoney and the lucrative Inglis and Super VOBIS bonuses on offer for eligible horses.

Headlining a quality line-up of three-year-olds embarking on Spring campaigns is Raffles Pegasus.

The Danny O'Brien-trained gelding is a last-start winner of the Listed Anzac Day Stakes at Flemington before being spelled.

Another entering the race first-up is Nadeem colt Specter, who couldn't have been more impressive when coming from near last to win his first start at Mornington in April.

Peter Morgan's exciting recent Echuca winner on debut Amah Rock adds plenty of interest to the field. The Fastnet Rock gelding is from the family of Group 2 winner Varenna Miss, and like Raffles Pegasus and Specter, is among the nominations for this year's Group 1 Caulfield Guineas.

All horses eligible to receive the $50,000 Inglis Bonus are: Raffles Pegasus, Caravaggio, Chabrier, Cleaver, Specter, Amah Rock, Chase The Rainbow, Gold Viking, Light Touch, Primaluna
