Inglis is pleased to announce that a $50,000 Inglis Bonus has been added to this coming Sunday’s Listed De Bortoli Wines Gosford Guineas (1200m). The bonus will be paid to the first Inglis Race Series nominated horse across the line.
“The Inglis Guineas at Scone has reached its maximum prizepool of $500,000 and thus we have decided to disburse the remaining $50,000 in the Inglis Race Series pot onto the Gosford Guineas,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.
A prizepool of $200,000 is available to the winner of the Gosford Guineas this Sunday 21 April, with the combined $50,000 Inglis Bonus and $150,000 first place prizemoney.
Run over 1200m, the Listed Gosford Guineas is an ideal lead up event to the $500,000 Inglis Guineas at Scone (1400m, Saturday 18 May). The last two winners of the Gosford Guineas, Sincero and Pampelonne, both went on to take out the rich Inglis Guineas.
Nominations for the Gosford Guineas close at 11am tomorrow 16 April 2013.
The $500,000 Restricted Listed Inglis Guineas at Scone on Saturday 18 May 2013 signals the end of the Inglis Race Series for graduates of Inglis Select Yearling Sales in 2011. Nominations for the 1400m three-year-old event close at 11am on Monday 13 May 2013.
The $50,000 Inglis Trainers Bonus for the 2011 Inglis graduates race series will be presented after the running of the Inglis Guineas next month. Anthony Cummings, Gerald Ryan and Neville Layt currently lead the contest with two wins each ahead of ten other trainers that have bagged one win a piece so far.
Cummings set the pace early in the series by presenting Diamond Earth to win both the $250,000 Inglis Banner and $250,000 Inglis Nursery. Ryan then took out the $250,000 Inglis Classic with Cavalry Rose and then the $250,000 Inglis Premier with Snitzerland. Layt’s galloper Red Excitement has claimed bonus races in Canberra and Gosford (pictured) during the series.
