$780K Traded to Conclude Scone Yearling Sale

The 2011 HTBA Scone Yearling Sale concluded today with another $780,000 traded during the Second Session.

In all, 138 yearlings sold today at an excellent clearance rate of 84%.

The day was headed by Middlebrook Valley’s filly by Olympus from Sephora, which sold to Luke Griffith for $35,000.

Middlebrook had also sold two of the top three lots from Thursday’s opening session.

Colts by Lion Heart and Nothin’ Leica Dane also topped the $20,000 mark today.

“There was a good crowd in attendance today and there was good money for the good types in the catalogue,” Inglis Director Jonathan D’Arcy said.

“BOBS double-up vouchers were used throughout the day, assisting in the overall sale result.

“This session is proving itself to be a real value sale. Half of the field in this year’s Inglis Challenge were purchased out of the Sunday session, underlining how good horses can be bought at bargain prices out of the final day.”

Horses passed in during the two days of the Scone sale are still available via the Inglis Make an Offer Service.

Attention now shifts to this week’s Melbourne Great Southern Sale at Oaklands, which begins on Tuesday, with the two day Great Southern Weanling Sale.

The Great Southern Bloodstock Sale then begins on Thursday and runs through two sessions.
