All Too Hard and Snitzerland impressive in Melbourne

Exciting Inglis two-year-olds All Too Hard and Snitzerland put themselves in the picture for the Sydney Carnival’s major juvenile contests with dominant performances at Group level at Flemington today.

Black Caviar’s little brother ALL TOO HARD ($1,025,000 2011 Easter, 2c Casino Prince-Helsinge) made winning the Group Two VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) look all too easy in Melbourne, taking out the juvenile feature by four lengths.

The son of Casino Prince (pictured as yearling) was the star of last year’s Australian Easter Yearling Sale when sold to Hawkes Racing on behalf of Patinack Farm’s Nathan Tinkler for $1,025,000 and his connections have plenty to weigh up heading to Sydney after today’s impressive performance.

The blue-blooded colt is now equal third favourite with Tabsportsbet for April’s $3.5million Golden Slipper alongside fellow Easter graduate Raceway, with the Sires’ Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes also options for Patinack’s valuable two-year-old entire.

Makybe as agent for Gilgai Farm will offer Black Caviar and All Too Hard’s yearling half-sister by Redoute’s Choice as Lot 200 at this year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale as part of their 11 strong draft.

Earlier at Flemington another Inglis graduate, SNITZERLAND ($125,000 2011 Premier, 2f Snitzel-Monte Rosa) , also put herself in contention for the Golden Slipper with a dominant performance in the Group Three VRC TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m).

Snitzerland was coming off a last start win in the $250,000 Inglis Premier at Mornington last month and the Gerald Ryan trained filly will return to Sydney in top form following today’s two and three-quarter length victory over Easter Session Two graduate Extreme Impact, which is also by Snitzel.

The Group Three winner was bred by Arrowfield and sold from Bellerive Stud’s draft at last year’s Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale for $125,000 to Gerald Ryan, who approached the under-bidder Mick Malone of Kitchwin Hills after Ryan’s client rejected the filly. Malone and his clients Neil Werrett and Steve McCann jumped at the chance and the team now have a live Slipper chance.

McCann, under his Encompass Bloodstock banner, is also a part-owner of Golden Slipper favourite Samaready, which was purchased from Inglis’ Easter Sale in 2011 for $150,000.

Snitzerland’s breeder Arrowfield Stud will be bringing 32 yearlings to the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale next month in Sydney.

The 2012 Easter Sale will be held at Inglis’ Newmarket Complex in Sydney from April 10 to 12, between the Australian Turf Club’s Golden Slipper and Derby weekends.
