Champion two-year-old Anabandana is the latest Group One winner to be entered for the 2012 edition of the Southern Hemisphere’s leading breeding stock sale, the Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale.
Anabandana has been the leading filly in New Zealand for the last two seasons and will be offered by Broadwater Thoroughbreds as agent during the Super Select Session of the Easter Broodmare Sale on April 17 to 19.
The daughter of Anabaa was crowned New Zealand Champion Two-Year-Old for 2010/11 thanks to back-to-back Group One victories in the ARC Diamond Stakes and Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes and has since notched up a Group Three win this racing season and a second placing the Group One NZ 2000 Guineas against the males.
The close relation to King’s Rose has earned NZ$500,000 in 11 career starts, with her last start a strong 5th behind Shopaholic in the Group Two MRC Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday February 28.
“Anabandana has shown herself to be a top class filly and we are delighted to have her in the Easter Broodmare Sale,” Inglis Director Jonathan D’Arcy said.
“We have had the honour of selling world class mares Allez Wonder, Samantha Miss and Sun Classique the last three years and as evidenced by entries received so far such as Anabandana and Response the Super Select Session will contain an outstanding line-up of mares,” D’Arcy said.
The Super Select Session, to be held on Day One of the Easter Broodmare Sale, will contain the best 200 fillies and mares entered for the esteemed sale. Day Two will comprise the next selection of Select Session mares and Day Three will round out 2012 sale with General Session offerings.
Catalogues for this year’s Australian Easter Broodmare Sale will be released in the coming weeks.
Supplementary entries will remain open until Monday April 2 and entry forms can be downloaded HERE.
