The directors of William Inglis & Son are pleased to announce the launch of a new annual internship to commence September 1 this year.
The comprehensive year-long program will offer the successful applicant a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the workings of Australia’s leading bloodstock auctioneer.
“We are proud to be able to support the Australian thoroughbred industry with this initiative,” said Inglis Managing Director Reg Inglis. “We hope that in the coming years it will help aspiring young people gain a foothold in our wonderful industry.”
Based predominantly at Inglis’ Randwick headquarters in Sydney the intern will learn from some of the industry’s leading professionals, working on all aspects of the pedigree and conformation evaluation of yearlings entered in the Inglis 2007 auction series.
The successful candidate will also spend time in the company’s insurance, leasing and marketing divisions, while playing an active role at the majority of the 21 auctions on the Inglis calendar.
Accordingly, we expect aspiring applicants to be interested in a career in the thoroughbred/auctioneering/bloodstock agency business and be able to demonstrate a reasonable knowledge of the Australian thoroughbred industry.
There will be opportunities for inter-state travel and a generous living allowance will be paid.
Written applications should be submitted to Jonathan D’Arcy no later than June 30, 2006 and should include a current C.V. along with a covering letter explaining why you should be awarded this placement.
The internship is open to Australian citizens only.
