Another Winning Hand From Inglis

11th Apr 2008

Flying Spur gelding Dealer Principal led another William Inglis assault on feature races at Rosehill today.

Inglis graduates won six of the nine races on the prestigious program, with another two Group 2 events, a Group 3 and a Listed win accompanying Dealer Principal's Rosehill Guineas win.

The Guineas is the tenth Group 1 race snared by William Inglis graduates this calendar year and follows the Queen of the Turf win by fellow Flying Spur three-year-old Forensics last week.

The Anthony Cummings trained DEALER PRINCIPAL ($150,000 2006 Easter, 3g Flying Spur-Volte) was offered for sale by Reavill Farm, who have a select draft of 10 for this month's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, including a full-sister to 2005 Golden Slipper winner Stratum (Redoute's Choice-Bourgeois).

Reigning Australian Champion Sire Flying Spur is represented by 30 yearlings in the Easter catalogue.

Dealer Principal is the latest example of outstanding horses that can be bought for under the median at Easter, with his earnings now approaching $400,000 after just five starts.

Earlier, PORTILLO ($850,000 2007 Easter, 2f Red Ransom-Snowdrift) cemented her place in the Golden Slipper and built on her rating as one of the most valuable fillies in training when taking out the Group 2 Parramatta Leagues Club (Magic Night) Stakes.

It is the second stakes win for the Woodlands Stud owned filly, who is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Snowland and stakes winner Snippetson.

Tyreel Stud will offer a Redoute's Choice half-brother to Portillo as Lot 377 at this month's William Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Tough mare THRONE INN ($25,000 2005 Sires Produce, 4m King Of Kings-Amberlene) has been a great money-spinner for connections and took her earnings beyond the $300,000 mark when landing the Group 3 Cleanevent Stakes.

Private Steer's half-brother ALL SILENT (P/I $280,000 2005 Easter, 4g Belong To Me-Lisheenowen) lived up to the promise he showed last campaign by stepping up in class to take out the Group 2 Ajax Stakes, rounding out another highly successful day for William Inglis graduates.

Other winners on the Rosehill card included Listed Epona Stakes victor READY TO LIFT ($120,000 2005 Ready to Run, 4m More Than Ready-On The Rise) and promising sprinter WASTED EMOTIONS ($40,000 2004 Classic, 5g Desert Prince-Emotional Moment).
