The indisputable winner of April’s horse of the month award is Racing To Win.

The outstanding grey gelding surpassed all expectations long ago, but in taking out two Group 1 contests in just over a week of the Sydney Autumn Carnival he proved himself one of the best three-year-old milers in training.

Victory in the Group 1 STC George Ryder Stakes on Slipper Day provided the $40,000 Easter graduate with his first taste of Group 1 glory, and then just nine-days later he added Australia’s most sought after mile prize - the Doncaster Handicap, to his burgeoning tally of stakes-wins.

Since February the remarkable son of Encosta De Lago has also won the Group 2 STC Hobartville Stakes and finished runner-up in three other stakes-races, his only starts.
