Sydney’s champion trainer Chris Waller has waved his magic wand over the near white Dash For Cash mare Arinosa who earned her third stakes success in Saturday’s Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) at Randwick.
The 5yo grey mare came to Waller as the winner of a maiden and a class 1 at Seymour and he has transferred her into one of the most consistent stakes horses in the country.
Since winning a race restricted to greys during Melbourne Cup week, Arinosa kick-started 2013 by winning the Listed Wenona Girl Handicap (1200m) at Warwick Farm on March 16 then adding the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m) a fortnight later.
Saturday’s victory was earned with almost embarrassing ease.
With regular partner Brenton Avdulla came with a storming finish to down Miss Stellabelle by 4-1/4 lengths.
Waller put Arinosa’s form improvement down to confidence.
"If you're winning and get treated like a winner, you feel a little bit extra,” Waller said. "She just goes from one step to another and taking on better horses and still winning. It's quite unbelievable.”
A $32,000 purchase by Makybe Racing & Breeding from the Swettenham Stud consignment at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling sale, Arinosa takes her overall record to 9 wins, 4 seconds and 1 third from 26 starts for earnings of $473,490.
Arinosa is the second foal of the stakes-placed Revoque mare Amoroso a winner in Adelaide and in Melbourne.
Amoroso has a yearling colt by Dash For Cash and was bred back to Bel Esprit last year.
