Arrowfield Stud - Media Release - Sunday, 14 April 2013
Arrowfield Stud has announced the service fees for the ten stallions on its 2013 roster.
The fee for new acquisition Animal Kingdom (USA), the outstanding winner of last month's Dubai World Cup G1 and the 2011 Kentucky Derby G1, has been set at $38,500 inc. GST.
The fees for Arrowfield's two brilliant sons of Redoute's Choice, Not A Single Doubt ($33,000 inc. GST) and Snitzel ($49,500 inc. GST) have both been increased this year. Between them they have 16 stakeswinners this season, and are among Australia's top 5 sires of 2YOs, with Snitzel joining Redoute's Choice in the top 10 on the General list.
Snitzel was represented by his first million-dollar yearling at last week's Inglis Australian Easter Sale, and ended Session 1 with an average of $335,000 for 10 lots sold. Not a Single Doubt achieved his best-ever yearling sale price of $300,000 for Fairhill Farm's colt from Euchre at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
The fees for Redoute's Choice ($137,500 inc. GST), All American ($16,500 inc. GST) and Smart Missile ($22,000 inc. GST) are unchanged.
Redoute's Choice cracked a century of stakeswinners in February, and has already added another five new stakeswinners to his lifetime record. Last week he topped the Easter Sale sire averages for the 9th consecutive year. His $5 million son from Helsinge is the highest-priced yearling ever sold in Australasia, and among Redoute's Choice's 63 seven-figure yearlings sold since 2004.
All American's first crop yearlings have sold for up to $290,000 and their purchasers include John Foote, Robbie Griffiths, Bjorn Baker, Hawkes Racing, John O'Shea, George Moore Bloodstock, McEvoy Mitchell Racing, Star Thoroughbreds & Triple Crown Syndications.
Unbeaten 2YO Smart Missile was very well-supported in his first season last year and breeders have a further opportunity to tap into his raw talent at the same fee.
Group 1 sires Charge Forward and Starcraft are proving to be highly effective matches for mares by Danehill-line stallions and will both stand at a fee of $22,000 inc. GST.
Three-time US turf champion and 7-time Group 1 winner Gio Ponti will stand his second season at $16,500 inc. GST.
Manhattan Rain's first yearlings, purchased by Anthony Cummings, David Ellis, Dermot Farrington, Dynamic Syndications, Mark Kavanagh, Mick Price & David Redvers among others, will step out as 2YOs while he is available to breeders at a fee of $27,500 inc. GST.
