Australian bred two year-old filly Dylan's Promise landed a Black Type success overnight taking out the Listed Devon Air Stakes at Clairwood.

The Charles Laird trained filly took out the 1450 metre event by half a length and has the overall record of two wins ad a placing from just three starts.

A $35,000 purchase for Heritage Bloodstock from the Erinvale Thoroughbreds draft at the 2011 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Dylan's Promise is the fourth winner from Group I placed Rigoletto mare Madonna, who is the grand-dam of this season's smart three year-old filly Our Miss Jones, who finished second in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks.

Dylan's Promise is the third Australian bred winner from the first Southern Hemisphere bred crop of foals by champion racehorse Dylan Thomas and is his third stakes-winner worldwide joining the ill-fated Furner's Green and Tannery.

A six-time Group I winning son of Danehill, Dylan Thomas (pictured) stands in Australia this spring at the bargain fee of $13,750.

Other Aussie bred gallopers to go close in Black Type races were two year-old colt Lionize and four year-old gelding Castlethorpe, both sons of Not a Single Doubt.

Castlethorpe finished second beaten a length and a quarter in the Group I Rising Sun Gold Challenge Cup over 1600 metres, while Lionize was also second in the Listed Gatecrasher Stakes beaten a length and three-quarters.
