Australian Easter Broodmare Sale Entries Closing

Nominations for the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale are closing this Friday, February 13.

The closing date has been extended by one week owing to many vendors being in attendance at this week’s Sydney Classic Yearling Sale, which concluded at Newmarket yesterday.

Nominations already received indicate this will be another high quality sale in 2009.

They include multiple Group winning mares straight off the track, in addition to the Dams of Group One winners and many more in foal to Redoute’s Choice, Encosta De Lago, Hussonet, Flying Spur and the late General Nediym.

First season sires represented include Henny Hughes, Dylan Thomas, Haradasun, Excellent Art and Husson.

Inglis Broodmare sales have produced outstanding results for vendors in recent years.

Mannington set a new record when knocked down to Darley for $2,050,000 in 2005 and her record was broken in 2007 when Virage De Fortune sold to Darley for an Australian auction record of $3.4million.

Last year’s highlights included the $2million mares Lucida and Personify, in addition to Milanova, who was sold by Tyreel Stud for a southern hemisphere record $5million to Coolmore Australia.

Other seven figure mares sold by Inglis in 2008 included Peruzzi, Danevade, Larrocha, Cheeky Choice, Living Spirit, Shindig and Valourina.

The 2009 Australian Easter Broodmare Sale will be held at Newmarket over three days from April 14-16. The sale will commence with a select session and conclude with the general session.
