This year’s catalogue features 600 yearlings and promises to uphold the standard of excellence for which Easter has become renowned, which is why it is the leading source of Group 1 winners in the Southern Hemisphere.
This season, Easter has already provided the winners of 41 stakes races in Australia, with Maldivian providing the sale with a ninth Group 1 victory for the term when taking Sunday’s C.F. Orr Stakes.
Easter offers a quality yearling for all buyers, with stakes winners this season ranging in price from $40,000 for the multiple G1 winner Racing To Win up to $2.5million for the 2005 sale topper Musket.
This year’s sale features yearlings by 63 sires, headed by Australia’s two highest profile stallions Encosta De Lago and Redoute’s Choice, who have 71 and 75 yearlings respectively catalogued.
The online catalogue can be searched by the race performance of yearling’s dams or siblings using the Inglis Advanced Search This search reveals more than 50 Group 1 winning mares and similarly, more than 50 siblings to Group 1 winners.
One highlight of the 2009 sales season is the first foal, a Galileo colt, from legendary race mare Makybe Diva, while Tony Santic’s Makybe Stud will also offer a Redoute’s Choice colt from the great mare’s dam, Tugela.
The catalogue also boasts progeny from recent racetrack stars like Private Steer, Shamekha, Hasna, Hollow Bullet, Regimental Gal, Special Harmony, Our Egyptian Raine, River Dove and Polar Success.
