Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale extended to Three Days

Due to the strong number of entries, Inglis has increased this year’s Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale to three days.

The sale will now be held on Wednesday 23, Thursday 24 and Friday 25th June.

For the third year in succession, the sale has attracted a quality dispersal/reduction, with Select Bloodstock entering an unreserved dispersal.

“We’re really thrilled with the level of support this sale is quickly attaining, particularly with the weanling nominations,” Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy said.

“It looks like it will be a good pinhookers market this year. Because of EI, there were less first season stallions in 2009, but this year we have a stellar group of freshmen and this is a great opportunity to secure their progeny ahead of the 2011 yearling sales.”

The weanling section has attracted outstanding nominations, with almost 400 nominations already.

These include progeny of Champion Australian sires Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur, Redoute’s Choice and Zabeel, along with fellow leading stallions Choisir, Commands, Lonhro, More Than Ready and Stratum.

The 2010 weanling crop boasts some headline first crop sires and this year’s sale will include progeny of Bernardini, Casino Prince, Dylan Thomas, Haradasun, Hard Spun and Street Sense.

More than 170 mares have been nominated, in foal to stallions like Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur, Rock Of Gibraltar, Stratum, Starcraft, Haradasun, Choisir and Sebring.

The sale will be broken up as follows:

Wednesday 23 June

9.30am TVN First Season Sire Weanling Parade

11am Select Session Broodmares followed by General session Broodmares - currently 170 lots.

Supplementary Broodmares will be sold on Wednesday with Select Supplementaries sold before the General session mares.

Thursday 24 June

10.30am Select Session Weanlings

Friday 25 June

10.30am Select Session Weanlings continues, followed by General Session Weanlings.

Supplementary weanlings will be sold on Friday with Select supplementaries sold before the General session starts.
