It was a celebration for the locals when Upstacker survived a protest to pick up today’s $50,000 Inglis Race Series Bonus at Hawkesbury.
Trainer Joan Pracey was overjoyed to see UPSTACKER ($18,000 2010 Classic, 2c Strategic-Pihikan) win, as she had pinpointed this race since purchasing the Strategic colt out of the Widden Stud draft at Classic last year.
Pracey said she had agreed with connections prior to the race that should they pick up the bonus they will head to Scone for next month’s HTBA Select Yearling Sale in search of another bargain priced yearling.
It was a lucrative maiden victory with Upstacker taking home the $50,000 Inglis bonus in addition to the $42,000 first prize and a BOBS bonus of $20,000.
The 2011 Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale will be held over two days on May 12 and 15 intertwined with the rich Inglis Guineas and Scone Cup two-day carnival.
The race series for 2010 graduates will offer $50,000 bonuses at Wagga and Warrnambool on May 5.
Classic added a new stakes winner in Adelaide today when the Patinack Farm owned ISOPACH (P$45,000 2010 Classic, 2g Magic Albert-Curvaceous) finished best to take the Listed Oaklands Plate.
The son of Magic Albert was offered through the Patinack draft and has now proven a shrewd pass in.
