Better Races In Store For Keith Noud Winner

Better Than Ready (More Than Ready x Sally’s World) will be aimed Group 1 events in the Autumn following his success in the Listed BRC Keith Noud Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

“In Melbourne he'll be down in the weights so that will give him the chance to show his good turn of foot and he'll be very competitive,” said jockey Ric McMahon after the recent victory.

The Group 1 MRC Oakleigh Plate is a likely target for the promising sprinter that has won $477,000 so far thanks to eight wins and three placings in 15 starts.

Bred by Ian Smith, Better Than Ready was sold as yearling to trainer Kelly Schweida for $140,000 from Newgate Farm’s draft at 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Schweida was rapt by the son of More Than Ready lumping 60.5kgs to victory in style, noting that there are bigger aims next year.

“The main purpose of giving him these two runs this prep was to stop him getting too fat before the autumn," said Schweida.

Better Than Ready joined Samaready and War as stakes winners this season by More Than Ready purchased as yearlings from the Inglis Easter Sale.

44 progeny by More Than Ready feature in the soon to be released preview magazine for the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which will be held at Newmarket in Sydney on 8, 9 and 10 April next autumn.
