The blue-blooded half-sister of the World’s Highest Ever Rated Sprinter, Black Caviar, has been added to the list of acceptances for the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
The filly, by Australian Champion sire Redoute’s Choice from the dam of one of the greatest racehorses the world has ever seen, typifies the quality of youngster that is being compiled for sale in Sydney next Easter.
Unbeaten in thirteen starts, the last six at Group 1 level, Black Caviar has forced countless superlatives from all that have seen the superstar compete along Australia’s eastern seaboard.
Peter Moody’s dominant filly is likely to remain in Australia for the majority of the current season, taking in as many as eight races between Sydney and Melbourne carnivals, before embarking to Royal Ascot next June.
“Black Caviar, So You Think and Makybe Diva have recorded the highest international ratings by Australian-trained gallopers in the modern era, so to have siblings to all three confirmed to Easter is a great endorsement of the sale,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.
Inglis Melbourne Auctioneer Simon Vivian inspected the filly at Gilgai Farm recently.
“Black Caviar’s half-sister is quite a scopey filly, well balanced and particularly athletic, which is a trait that all buyers look for,” Vivian said.
“She will continue to develop over the coming months and I expect her to be a star yearling come Easter”.
Bred by Gilgai Farm, the filly is the fourth foal of well related Desert Sun mare Helsinge, a daughter of crack sprinting mare Scandinavia who has also produced Group 1 winner Magnus and Group 2 winner Wilander.
“We were thrilled to bits with the sale of our Casino Prince half-brother to Black Caviar to the Hawkes Racing team at this year’s Easter sale for over $1million, and look forward to offering this filly at the sale again next year, ” said breeder Rick Jamieson of Gilgai Farm.
“She is a very strong and athletic filly growing out superbly, and will most likely be the only direct female relation [to Black Caviar] to ever go on the market,” Jamieson added.
The 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale will be held at Newmarket in Sydney from Tuesday April 10 to Thursday April 12 next year.
