Black Caviar may well be in the breeding barn, but still the accolades continue to roll on for her.

The undefeated world champion was named as Victorian Racehorse Of The Year tonight at the Scobie Breasley Medal count function at the Grand Hyatt.

It was the third successive year that Black Caviar has won the award.

And, Black Caviar had to defeat her younger half-brother All Too Hard to claim the honour.

Black Caviar polled 115 votes, 28 votes more than All Too Hard, which won three Group 1s in Victoria – the Caulfield Guineas, the CF Orr Stakes and the Futurity Stakes.

Cox Plate winner Ocean Park, which also won three Group 1s, was 60 votes behind Black Caviar in third place.

Other horses to poll votes were Super Cool, Miracles Of Life, Green moon, Bashboy, Dunaden, Whisper Downs and Commanding Jewel.

The award was voted on by 49 members of the racing media.

While she only raced twice in Victoria for the season, Black Caviar erased a 25-year-old record when she won the race named in her honour – the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes.

And, in her farewell Victorian appearance, Black Caviar was untroubled to win the William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley.
