Breeze ups complete as Ready2Race inspections begin

Breeze ups have been finalised and inspections are underway at Riverside as preparations for the Inglis Ready2Race Sale head into overdrive.

A total of 12 horses participated in this morning’s alternate breeze session at Warwick Farm, with a Capitalist colt of Blake Ryan Racing recording the fastest time.

Lot 186 (Capitalist x Belhamage) clocked a scintillating 10.20secs, pleasing his preparer Ryan ahead of Tuesday’s sale.

“He’s just a neat, compact, fast, early 2YO,’’ Ryan said of the colt, pictured.

“He’s got the shape of his father and the colour of his dam sire (Exceed And Excel) so it’s a pretty nice mix.

“I was really happy with the time and just the way he breezed overall.

“All my horses have arrived and settled in really well at Riverside, inspections have been solid for this early stage so we’re really looking forward to the next few days and then sale day on Tuesday.’’

Vision of today’s breeze up action will be available on the Inglis website by tomorrow morning.

All other breeze vision is already available.

Recent renewals of this sale have produced over 400 individual winners of over $50m in prizemoney including G1 Doncaster Mile victor Nettoyer.

It’s got the highest winners-to-runners ratio of any of the Australian 2YO sales and the catalogue this year is outstanding, with youngsters by the likes of proven sires Fastnet Rock, Sebring, Not A Single Doubt, Pierro, Zoustar, Written Tycoon, Deep Field, Vancouver, Lonhro, Nicconi, Dundeel, Hinchinbrook, Brazen Beau, Choisir, Ocean Park and All Too Hard – plus international stallions Siyouni and Into Mischief - to name just a few, as well as first season stallions such as Capitalist, American Pharoah, Shalaa, Extreme Choice, Flying Artie, Frosted, Astern, Sooboog, Star Turn, Maurice, Divine Prophet and Tivaci etc.

It has also been a significant boon for the Hong Kong market, with a stronger winners-to-runners ratio and greater average earnings per runner than any other Australian 2YO Sale in the same period.

Inspections continue tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, with the sale to begin at 10am Tuesday.

Sunday morning will see the annual Veuve Clicquot Ready2Race Parade at Riverside from 11am, where a strong selection of the catalogue will be paraded for buyers while they enjoy a complimentary brunch on behalf of Inglis.

The parade will be live streamed onto the Inglis website for those unable to attend.
