Brett Partelle Fundraiser After The Ready2Race Sale

A fundraiser for Wyong trainer Brett Partelle who suffered severe injuries from an incident in 2010 will be held by the NSW Trainers Associations at Inglis Sydney straight after The Star Ready2Race Sale next Tuesday 7 October 2014.

Raffles and auction items to raise funds have been generously donated by a range of businesses and individuals such as Inglis, Tabcorp, Sky Racing, Wyong Turf Club, Gosford Race Club, Australian Turf Club, NSW Trainers Association, Bloodstock.com.au, Michael Hill Jeweller, Gai Waterhouse, Glenn Munsie, Stuart McDonald, Joe Janiak, Richard Pegum, John Honeychurch, Andrew Varasdi, Robert Heathcote and Tim Hughes.

In October 2010, Brett suffered a horrendous incident where he was basically crushed by a horse in the race course stalls. Since that time Brett has suffered severe physical, financial and emotional stress and his life may never be the same. Brett still has trouble breathing and sleeping at night and is still receiving regular medical attention and treatment. Whilst Brett is in the process of settling his matter legally, he and his family will still be in substantial financial difficulty.

Brett has a partner and young family who have all suffered throughout his ordeal. Whilst he has been able to keep a few horses in work, mainly to assist his recovery, Brett basically has no income anymore. His mental and physical ailments are such that he will have great trouble getting work into the future and the ramifications of settling his court case mean he will be unable to claim any Government benefits for many years.

As a result the NSW Trainers Associations is holding this function in a bid to raise funds to help Brett and his family.
