Broadcasting cooperation takes Easter to a wider audience

InglisTV, TVN, Sky Racing and Channel 7 will be working together next week to showcase the region’s breeding and racing industry via extensive coverage of the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

All interviews and sales ring action at the prestigious thoroughbred auction in Sydney will be broadcast uninterrupted on InglisTV from 10:30am on all three days of the sale, 9, 10 & 11 April.

In a huge boost to the profile of the industry Day One of the Easter sale on Tuesday will be covered by both dedicated thoroughbred racing channel TVN and free-to-air channel 7Two, which drew an audience of over 661,000 to watch Inglis graduate Black Caviar recently.

“Horse racing is a fantastic sport that is going through a real renaissance period in Australia, with extensive investment in increasing prizemoney and racetrack facilities for owners, as evidenced right here in Sydney,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.

“The cooperation between different media outlets to promote the best of the breeding industry to potential new investors next week is another great breakthrough for our sport to build on,” said Webster.

TVN will continue coverage of the sale on Wednesday and Thursday from 10:30am both days.

Sky Racing and Sky Sports Radio will also be providing regular news updates on the Easter Sale across its extensive domestic and international platform. The hourly news updates, hosted by Andrew Bensley on the grounds at Newmarket, will be broadcast into 2.2 million homes and 5,400 venues on Sky Racing 1, Sky Racing 2 and Sky Racing World, as well as via Racing World Australia into 14 million homes in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Dubai Racing Channel and the UK’s Racing Post will also be showcasing highlights of the sale to their viewers next week.

“The Australian racing and breeding industry continues to move forward in leaps and bounds and it is fantastic for us to be able to present the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale to such a wide global audience, particularly in the northern hemisphere” Webster adds.

“Easter graduate Exceed And Excel is a well-known successful sire in both hemispheres and we anticipate this coverage will assist in familiarising more people with the exploits of Australia’s other leading sires such as Fastnet Rock and Redoute’s Choice, whose first northern hemisphere conceived progeny will hit the European tracks in coming years,” said Webster.

Web users will be able to access both the InglisTV coverage and existing static cameras on the sale ring and parade rings, which include the dedicated auctioneer audio.

Buyers using the Online Bidding system will again receive the usual static sale ring video and auctioneer audio feed to ensure there is no disruption to the bidding function.

Photos of buyers, vendors and the sale’s top lots will be made available for all on Inglis’ Facebook page InglisBloodstock. Updates from the sale ring will go out via Inglis’ Twitter account @Inglis_Sales
