BUYERS BONANZA - 100 MORE AT EASTER

3rd Jan 2007

After being inundated with record entries, a catalogue that will number close to 600 yearlings is being assembled for the 2007 William Inglis & Son Easter Yearling Sale . The great news for buyers is there will be close to 100 more yearlings to choose from than last year’s sale. A preview index of horses for the sale has been placed online at www.inglis.com.au for viewing by Sire, Dam, Vendor, etc.

The 2006 Easter Yearling Sale was the most successful yearling sale ever held in Australia, so anticipation is high for the 2007 sale, due to the fantastic support of leading breeders throughout Australia and New Zealand who keep their best yearlings to sell at Easter. With last year’s median price of $180,000, the door will be wide open for some astute buying in 2007 with the increased numbers.

The top commercial stallions in Australasia as a collective group have greater representation in the upcoming catalogue due to substantial increases in the size of their 2005 foal crops. Redoute’s Choice heads up that list having covered 213 mares in 2004, resulting in close to 70 of his best yearlings to be offered at Easter in 2007.

For buyers who felt a Redoute’s Choice or Encosta de Lago was seemingly out of reach in 2006, there’s good news. Both sires are likely to have over 115 offerings between them at Easter in 2007. With close to 100 yearlings by these sires being sold prior to Easter in 2007, the wait for their best yearlings will be worthwhile.

Fresh in the buyer’s minds will be the unrivalled success Inglis Graduates are having on the racetrack. Last season they triumphed in 23 Group One races, with Easter purchases Miss Finland, Serenade Rose and Racing To Win being crowned Champion Racehorses.

The William Inglis & Son Australian Easter Yearling Sale will be held at Newmarket Sydney on 10, 11 & 12 April 2007.
