Buyers to see "something very special'' at Inglis Ready2Race

The next stage of the Inglis Ready2Race Sale was completed with breeze up sessions at Eagle Farm and Taupo today.

A Deep Field juvenile that Prima Park’s Kelly Van Dyk believes is “something very special’’ was the highlight lot at the Taupo breeze ups, which were conducted on a Good 3 surface.

Lot 22 – a Deep Field x Blueridge Cat gelding (pictured) – clocked 10.31secs for his breeze alongside fellow Prima offering lot 109 (a Zoustar x Miss Eddy filly) which ran the day’s second-fastest time of 10.37 seconds.

Van Dyk was thrilled with both horse’s efforts.

“The Deep Field is a very forward 2YO with a phenomenal temperament and we think he’s something very special,’’ Van Dyk said.

“He’s ready to go to the races now basically, we certainly think a lot of him so it came as no surprise that he ran the fastest time, even though we didn’t necessarily set out to.

“The Zoustar filly is also a very nice horse and she’s probably going to be even better as a 3YO but that said, I expect both to be very popular during inspections at Riverside in a few weeks.’’

At Eagle Farm, the fastest breeze came from lot 85, a Shamus Award x La Belle Aurore colt from Rojul Bloodstock who clocked 10.97secs on the Good 4 surface.

The second-fastest breeze at Eagle Farm was lot 123, a Deep Field x Omniyah colt of KBL Thoroughbreds which clocked 11.08secs.

Andrew Dunemann of R2R Club – whose three Ready2Race horses that breezed today are being offered through KBL Thoroughbreds – provided three of the four fastest breeze up times at Eagle Farm.

“For those three to run the times they did, especially the Spirit of Boom and Smart Missile because they’re really going to make beautiful 3YOs, we were thrilled with,’’ Dunemann said.

“The Deep Field x Omniyah colt, he’s the most forward of the three of them and is a really nice colt and while we haven’t pushed any of ours, he’s just showing natural early ability and speed.

“I’m extremely happy with how all three of ours breezed and for them to run three of the fastest four times of the day is an indication of just how well they’re going.’’

Today’s action bought an end to the first round of breeze ups.

The times, photos and videos of all of today’s breeze ups will be available at inglis.com.au and the Inglis iPad app within the next 48 hours.

That information for the Cranbourne and Warwick Farm breeze ups of the past fortnight are already online.

There is one final breeze up session remaining, again at Warwick Farm on Friday October 18 for horses who were unable to breeze in the earlier sessions.

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale – which has more winners to runners than any other Australasian 2YO Sale since 2013 - will be held at Riverside Stables on Tuesday October 22, three days after The Everest.

On-site inspections will begin on Friday October 18, which will coincide with a brunch and full catalogue parade at Riverside Stables for all interested participants that morning.
