Progressive colt Carrara put himself in the frame for the Caulfield Guineas and in the process picked up a lucrative Inglis $100,000 Race Series Bonus when winning in Listed company at Flemington today.
CARRARA ($200,000 2008 Premier, 3c Elvstroem-Crystal Sprite) is proving to be an outstanding advertisement for his Blue Gum Farm based sire Elvstroem and a great investment for the Arch Of Gold Syndicate, who purchased him out of the Little Plains Stud Draft at last year's Melbourne Premier Sale.
Lumped with 59kg, Carrara showed a superior turn of foot to leave some highly touted rivals in his wake as he took out the Listed Henry Bucks Best Dressed Stakes (1400m).
He has made light of his $200,000 purchase price and his earnings are now knocking on the door of the $400,000 mark, with today's first prize of $75,000, coupled with the $100,000 Inglis Bonus almost doubling his previous tally.
The Tony Vasil trained colt is the latest 2008 Inglis Yearling Sale graduate to add his name to a growing list of Bonus winners as part of the $2.5Million series.
Last month at Seymour, the Mike Moroney trained Sophrosyne picked up a $50,000 Bonus, while Spring Champion Stakes aspirant Hus Der Lieften took out a $100,000 Bonus when scoing at Rosehill on August 1.
The next race in the series for 2008 graduates comes up at the AJC's meeting on October 17, with a $100,000 Bonus for eligible horses.

The first opportunity for 2009 Inglis Yearling Sale graduates comes up at Moonee Valley on October 24, with the running of the $250,000 Inglis Juvenile (1000m), which was taken out last year by Starspangledbanner, who has trained on to be one of the leading three-year-olds in Melbourne, with dual stakes successes this campaign.
