Catalogue Online For Australasia’s Headline Broodmare And Weanling Sale

The catalogue is now online for Australasia’s headline breeding stock sale with 771 lots compiled for the 2014 edition of the Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale in Sydney.

“With this year's select yearling sales showing good growth in the middle market it is a great time to be investing in some new broodmares carrying to Australia's leading stallions. Many of the mares being sold at this year's sale have sold yearlings in Easter, Premier and Classic for a lot of money over the last two or three years,” said Jonathan D’Arcy, Inglis’ Sydney Bloodstock Director.

“Anything can happen when you buy a broodmare at Newmarket - just think about the success stories of breeders buying the dams of Sepoy, Black Caviar, So You Think and Long John before they became household names for an average price of $50,000,” adds D’Arcy.

The streamlined format of the auction will see 218 weanlings and 553 mares offered over three days at Inglis’ Newmarket sales complex at Randwick on 4, 5 & 6 May 2014.

Buyers will get their first look at weanlings by highly anticipated first season sires So You Think, Foxwedge, Sepoy, Helmet, Smart Missile, Master Of Design, Dream Ahead, Canford Cliffs, Gio Ponti, Uncle Mo, Pluck and Poet’s Voice.

Proven and promising sires represented include Snitzel, Fastnet Rock, Exceed And Excel, Lonhro, Stratum, Encosta de Lago, Choisir, Street Cry, Bernardini, Northern Meteor, Sebring, Dane Shadow, High Chaparral, Al Maher, Magic Albert, I Am Invincible, Denman, Duporth, All American, Manhattan Rain and Nicconi.

Star siblings to Whobegotyou, Road To Rock, Dealer Principal, Irish Light and Stratum are also catalogued.

All 218 weanlings will be offered on Day One of the sale – Sunday 4 May.

The broodmare section of the sale has secured a first class line up of young race fillies, stakes winning mares off the track and proven producers in foal to superb commercial stallions.

Group One winners Dariana, Russeting, Mid Summer Music, Bramble Rose and Merlene are among 87 stakes performed mares catalogued to be offered at the Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale in May.

Prized mares carrying the first foals of All Too Hard, Pierro, Americain, Animal Kingdom, Bullet Train, Delago Deluxe, Excelebration, Harbour Watch, Ilovethiscity, Ocean Park and Your Song are sure to demand plenty of attention.

Also set to be offered in Sydney are mares in foal to leading sires Bernardini, Charge Forward, Choisir, Commands, Denman, Fastnet Rock, High Chaparral, I Am Invincible, Lonhro, Not a Single Doubt, Reset, Sebring, , Snitzel, Stratum, Street Cry and Testa Rossa, plus Foxwedge, Sepoy, Smart Missile and So You Think.

Day Two of the sale, Monday 5 May, will see 277 Select Session Mares (Lot 219 to 495) offered. This included Tyreel Stud’s broodmare dispersal of 23 high-quality breeding prospects.

Catalogued for sale on the third and final day of the streamlined auction on Tuesday 6 May is the remaining 161 Select Mares (Lot 496 to 656) & 115 General Mares (Lot 657 to 771).
