Cathy Hains has been elected to the board of Thoroughbred Breeders Victoria, replacing retiring board member Ruth Frenzel.
The TBV announced the new addition to the board at its AGM held at Moonee Valley.
"The Hains name is synonymous with racing and breeding success at the elite level so to have Cathy join the board is a coup for our association and adds further depth to the group we have assembled over the past few years," TBV president Tim Johnson said.
Cathy Hains owns and runs the highly-successful Burnewang North breeding property in northern Victoria.
She purchased the farm in 2005 to establish her own private commercial broodmare facility, which presents yearlings at the Inglis Premier and Sydney Easter sales.
At this year's Premier Sale Burnewang North achieved outstanding success, finishing in the top three sellers at the sale in only its third year as a vendor.
Johnson also paid tribute to Ruth Frenzel's 10-plus years on the board, in particular in her role as treasurer which she held for three terms.
