Caulfield Double Pointer to 2009 Premier

The Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale begins at Oaklands tomorrow, with graduates Tale Of Love and Stokehouse delivering another reminder of the class and value on offer at the sale with their Caulfield double today.

Tale Of Love’s connections have been the major beneficiaries of the $2.5million Inglis Race Series to this point.

TALE OF LOVE ($60,000 2008 Premier, 2f Tale Of The Cat- Djel d'Amour) picked up an Inglis $50,000 provincial bonus with her Mornington win 10 days ago and today took home the major spoils in the $250,000 Inglis Premier (1200m).

In the following event, STOKEHOUSE ($100,000 2007 Premier, 3g Anabaa-Malapert) added to the Premier Sale’s stakes record this season when scoring in the Group 2 Yalumba 160 (1800m).

This was the David Hayes trained gelding’s second stakes success this season and his earnings now stand at $280,000 with bigger targets likely to follow.

Vinery Stud will offer a Testa Rossa half-brother to Stokehouse as Lot 498 at Tuesday’s Premier session.

Another impressive Caulfield winner today was the Contract Racing owned and bred filly Red Flair. Little Plains Stud will offer a God’s Own half-brother to that filly as Lot 247 at Monday’s second session.

The winning Inglis theme at Caulfield continued when ROAD TO ROCK ($100,000 2006 Easter, 4h Encosta De Lago-Trewornan) took out the Listed Sportingbet Gold Cup.

The Premier catalogue includes Lot 144, a Galileo colt from Road To Rock’s Redoute’s Choice stakes placed half-sister True Doubt.

Other Inglis graduates to enjoy stakes success today included HEADWAY ($175,000 2008 Easter, 2f Charge Forward-Chatelaine), who became the first stakes winner for her sire in taking the Listed Chairman’s Stakes, and COLOUR ($1.6million 2008 Easter, 2f More Than Ready-Regrowth) who added even more esteem to the wonderful Easy Date family with an authoritative win in the G3 Marsh Breeders’ Stakes at Morphettville.

The 2009 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale begins from 12 noon tomorrow.

The first session of the sale will be covered live on TVN.

The sale can also be viewed online, with internet bidding and the Make an Offer service available for those that cannot attend, in addition to Sirecam videos of each yearling.
