In conjunction with the Sale Turf Club, Inglis will auction an unbroken Churchill Downs filly half sister to stakes winning two-year-old Rossa Glory at the Club’s Cup day meeting this Sunday.
This meeting will also feature the running of country Victoria’s richest 3YO restricted race – the Inglis Trophy, valued at $100,000 for three-year-olds 0-82 handicap over 1400 metres.
Restricted to horses nominated for the lucrative $2,600,000 Inglis Race Series, the race was run for the first time last year with the first two across the line, Dissolved & Excuse My French, both later going on to success at stakes level last season.
Nominations for Sunday's Sale Cup meeting close at 12:00pm tomorrow, Tuesday 19 October.
“Churchill Downs led the First Season Sires at our Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale earlier this year, with his progeny heading into the stables of Peter Moody, David Hayes, Robbie Griffiths, Anthony Cummings and Steve Richards”, Inglis Director Peter Heagney said
“With glowing reports from all the trainers we are obviously delighted that we were able to secure a filly by the same sire for the Sale Turf Club, which will be auctioned off on the Club’s cup day this Sunday” Heagney added.
The two-year-old filly, from the Rory’s Jester mare Rory’s Glory, is bred on the same successful cross as Juvenile Group One winners Reward For Effort and The Heckler. Her pedigree can be viewed HERE.
Paid up for the $2.6million Inglis Race Series, the filly will be paraded at 1:10pm between races 2 and 3 in the mounting yard, with the auction to be conducted after race 5 at 2:55pm.
“We are delighted to continue our involvement with Inglis, with the auction and running of the $100,000 Inglis Trophy to again complement the dynamic nature of the Club. This allows owners the opportunity to compete for considerable prize money here in Gippsland with this years Eastcoast Plumbtec Sale Cup raised to $150,000,” Sale Turf Club CEO Wayne Pollock said.
