Classic Catalogue Connections

With the William Inglis & Son Classic Yearling Sale commencing on Saturday February 10, there have been numerous significant updates to various lots within the sale. By no means complete, the below listing outlines some of the more important updates to pedigrees in the upcoming sale catalogue.

Lot 8 - Canny Lad x Opulent Star filly to be offered on behalf of Lomar Park Stud. Picture
Tonicity who appears in the 3rd Dam is now the dam of impressive 2YO winner Cecconi (c by Encosta de Lago) who recorded a victory in the Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview L (1000m.) at his most recent outing.

Lot 27 - Catbird x Pensiamo colt on behalf of Manx Park as agent. Picture
Pensiamo has now had 5 foals raced for 4 winners, with a significant update to Bright Encounter (g by Encounter) who has now recorded 3 wins 1406 to 1856m.

Lot 62 - King’s Best x Rancho Miss colt on behalf of Emerald Thoroughbreds. Sirecam Vision
Timeless Miss (f by Gilded Time (USA)) has recorded a Gosford victory and a further four city placings.
Sashenka (2yo f Orientate (USA) x Royal Solitaire) now appears in the 2nd dam under her grand-dam All Kisses. Sashenka has recorded 2 wins at 2 at 900, 1110m. inc. BTC John Paul College H. 2d QTC C.E. McDougall S. L, BTC Tommy Smith Slipper L.

Lot 83 - King of Danes x Salamore filly on behalf of Neila Thoroughbreds.
Already dual stakes placed at her only two runs before the catalogue went to print, 2YO filly Beauty School (f by Royal Academy (USA)) resumed recently with a win in the Listed Arrowfield Stud Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies). Having contested stakes races at all three starts, this filly provides a significant update.

Lot 120 - Danehill Dancer (IRE) x Sly Smile (USA) filly on behalf of Lord Bloodstock as agent.
Arguably one of the most significant updates to occur in the catalogue could be through the deeds of Listed winner Danehill Smile. Purchased at last year’s Inglis Classic Sale for $50,000, the unbeaten filly is currently a leading contender for the $500,000 2007 Inglis Classic Race. The form around this filly is phenomenal, having defeated Mimi Lebrock at her first start, the Anthony Cummings trained galloper went on to score a resounding victory in the Listed Canonbury Stakes at her second race track appearance.

Lot 197 - Grandera(IRE) x Vain Hope colt on behalf of Torryburn Stud as agent. Sirecam Vision
Having scored two further victories since the catalogue went to print, Drizzle (g by Torrential (USA)) has increased his prizemoney haul to over $258,000, via a city win at Rosehill among his two further victories.

Lot 294 - Danzero x Breathe A Sigh filly to be offered on behalf of Emirates Park Pty Ltd.
Champagnat (f by Easy Rocking), the half sister to this Danzero filly has recorded a further city win, taking her winning tally to four, also recording a further city placing.

Lot 343 - Choisir x Courtroom Sweetie colt on behalf of Laceby Lodge Stud. Sirecam Vision Picture
The stakes placed Opter (g by Redoute’s Choice) has recorded three further wins since the catalogue was printed, while Sacred Kingdom (g by Encosta de Lago) has hit the Hong Kong racing scene with a flourish of wins. Recording three wins in succession from as many starts, the galloper has been compared to some of the greats of the Hong Kong turf including Silent Witness and Fairy King Prawn.

Lot 373 - Hawk Wing (USA) x Double O’Roc filly on behalf of by Lord Bloodstock as agent.
Impaler (g by Dracula) scored an impressive victory recently in the Listed STC Canterbury BMW Classic (1100m), taking career earnings to $789,300.

Lot 379 - Magic Albert x Elishir colt on behalf of by Guntawang Stud as agent.
Shepishir (f by Shepherd’s Field (USA)) has now recorded 15 wins and $315,575 in prizemoney through victory in the Listed Gold Coast Newmarket Hcp and a further stakes placing in the Listed QTC Just Now Quality Hcp.
Theophorus (g by Ignatius (USA)), the third foal of Elishir has now had one start for a 1¼ length victory.

Lot 435 - Half Hennessy x Gondobelle filly on behalf of by Riverdene Stud as agent.
This filly from first season sire Half Hennessy has receieved a pedigree update with the addition of Beaugongo (c by High Rolling), a half-brother to this filly recording 3 wins in succession at 1200, 1400m. WATC Crown Prosecutor H., Advanced Hotwater & Air H., Lancelin Beach Hotel H from four starts.

Lot 483 - Giant’s Causeway (USA) x Kashcrop (NZ) filly on behalf of by Edinglassie Stud as agent.
Magic By Gosh (f by Magic Albert) has now recored 2 wins at 1000, 1200m. 2d MRC Harvie Picken H.
Hill Of Grace (f by Zabeel (NZ)) who appears in the 4th dam was represented by her first runner recently, Bravo Gun (g by Viscount) recording an encouraging third placing at Royal Randwick.

Lot 522 - Hussonet (USA) x Lyrics colt on behalf of by Sledmere Stud.
We’ll See (f by More Than Ready (USA)) has now recored 2 wins inc. AJC Randwick Betting Auditorium H. (1200m).
Turon (g by Gold Fever (USA)) has now recorded 7 wins.

Lot 542 - Rhythm (USA) x Mermaid (NZ) colt on behalf of Baerami Thoroughbreds as agent.
Aquabelle (f by Lujain (USA)) has recorded a further city win along with two city placings.
Aquatic King (g by Ishiguru (USA)) scored a dominant win over 1200m at Randwick recently, enhancing the pedigree of this colt as Mermaid (NZ) now has seven to the races, all winners. Aquatic King is also one of the leading chances in the 2007 Inglis Classic Race.
