Inglis Classic Sale graduates put their best foot forward today as the 2011 renewal of the sale draws nearer.
The Inglis Classic Sale will be held in Sydney over three days from January 23-25.
In Melbourne, the Mick Price trained HOLDONTOYAHORSES (P$47,500 2010 Classic, 2f Dane Shadow-Dorothy Dinosaur) made it two wins from as many starts when an effortless winner of the Thomas North Plate (1100m).
A graduate of the Kitchwin Hills Classic draft, Holdontoyahorses was given a glowing endorsement by winning jockey Damien Oliver, who said the filly was worthy of being afforded her chance in the upcoming Blue Diamond Series.
Dane Shadow, who also has the Alan Bailey trained Five O’Clock among his promising juveniles this season, has nine youngsters catalogued for this year’s Classic Sale.
In Sydney, UNANIMOUSLY ($45,000 2009 Classic, 3g Not A Single Doubt-Heaven’s Eyes) dented some lofty reputations when taking the JB (Barry) Maher Memorial (1200m).
The likes of Havatryst, Intencion and Somepin Anypin were more fancied, but the Matthew Dale trained gelding snared the major end of the prize.
Unanimously has now won four of his nine starts for earnings approaching the $150,000 mark.
That pair followed the success of the promising KENNECOTT ($17,000 Classic, 3g Bradbury’s Luck-Hot Copper) in Singapore last night.
It was the Michael Freedman trained gelding’s third win in succession and after breaking the 1:10.00 mark for the 1200m, both Freedman and jockey Dan Beasley predicted bigger races now await.
Meanwhile, Great Southern Weanling Sale bargain buy WARM LOVE ($9000 2008 Great Southern Weanling, 3f Octagonal-Charangas) made it two from two this campaign when proving too speedy over 1100m at Caulfield.
A former stakes winner at two, the David Brideoake trained filly has now won four times for earnings topping $160,000.
