Classic yearling inspections underway in Sydney

Inspections have begun at Newmarket ahead of the 2013 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale – Summer Book, which begins at 11am this Sunday 20 January.

467 yearlings have been catalogued for the two day sale, of which 90% are BOBS eligible. List of yearling drafts already on the sales ground or arriving in the coming days is available at www.inglis.com.au

99 stallions are represented in the new Summer Book. There are also progeny from 28 stakes-winning dams as well as 24 yearlings who are half or full relations to stakes winners.

Only those horses offered at the Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale, Summer and Winter Books are eligible for the $250,000 Inglis Classic race for two-year-olds, part of the $5 million Inglis Race Series.

The 2013 running of the $250,000 Inglis Classic, to be conducted at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday 19 January, has attracted a full field of 14 plus four emergencies. Acceptances range from $7,000 purchase Little Miss Chelsy to $105,000 buy Direct Charge, which was the winner of the Group 3 VRC Maribyrnong Plate earlier this season.
