Trainer Ciaron Maher has confirmed that unbeaten filly Petits Filous (Street Boss-Excellent Lady, by Exceed and Excel) will make her next appearance in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) on Derby day following her brilliant victory at Flemington on Saturday, reports Racing.com.
The 3YO daughter of Street Boss made it four wins from as many starts when scoring a dominant 2.25-length win in the Listed Cap D'Antibes Stakes over 1100m.
"I think we'll go to the Coolmore," Maher told Melbourne's Radio Sport National yesterday.
"She had a month between runs before Saturday and she looked fine and pulled up fine. I think it is six weeks to the Coolmore, so we'll send her to the farm for a couple of weeks and freshen her up."
Petits Filous' winning time of 1:02.85, with a sizzling final 600m of 32.96, was just 0.7 seconds outside the course record, giving Maher plenty of confidence ahead of the Coolmore.
"Her times, every time she has started have been very been comparable to the boys and to the older horses. So on times, she looks like she'll measure up," he said.
