Danish runs Hot in Brisbane

Inglis graduates again dominated proceedings from Doomben today, highlighted by Hot Danish’s comfortable win in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000.

Today’s big meeting was a similar story to last week, where Doomben Cup winner Metal Bender capped a monster day for horses sold out of Inglis sales.

HOT DANISH ($32,000 2005 Scone, 6m Nothin’ Leica Dane-Hot ‘n’ Breezy) brushed off her Group 1 monkey in last month’s All Aged Stakes and has now promptly added a second to her outstanding record.

She is a most fitting dual Group 1 winner, with her overall record now reading at 14 wins in 25 starts for earnings just short of $2million.

Hot Danish led home an Inglis quinella, with Whobegotyou ($19,500 2007 Classic) turning in a stunning Stradbroke trial with his barnstorming second placing.

The 10,000, which is the 24th Australian Group 1 race won by graduates in 2009-10 completed an Inglis Group race hat-trick at Doomben.

KUTCHINSKY ($290,000 2008 Easter, 3g Anabaa-My First Zabeel) announced himself as the Queensland Derby favourite after ripping home to win the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes (2200m).

Bred on the same Anabaa-Zabeel cross as 2006 AJC Derby winner Headturner, Kutchinsky had no troubles adapting to the reverse way of going at Doomben and just like last time at Flemington, his rivals had no answer to his powerful finish.

Trainer Tony Noonan rates Kutchinsky as the most promising horse he has trained and he will get his chance at Group 1 level in the Queensland Derby in a fortnight.

Tough as nails TABULATE ($12,000 2005 June Weanling, 5g Honours List-Shurban) won his fifth race in his past six starts when getting a photo finish verdict in the Group 3 Premier’s Cup.

The Rob Heathcote trained galloper will now head to Eagle Farm, where the Group 2 Brisbane Cup awaits.

The next opportunity for an Inglis weanling comes up next month, with the 2010 Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale from June 23-25.
