Dash For Gold At Flemington

A quality field of 15 three-year-olds, including five last-start winners, line up for the inaugural $250,000 Inglis Dash to be run over 1100m down the straight at Flemington this Saturday.

The race provides an opportunity for lucrative prizemoney for three-year-olds peaking during the summer, or a starting point for horses aiming towards autumn riches.

A three-time winner (including two Group 3 victories) from four starts, Peter Moody’s Gold Symphony (Reward For Effort x Tzaress) will use the race to kick off his preparation. The first stakes-winner for top young Victorian sire Reward For Effort, he is favoured to run well for owners Triple Crown Syndications, which purchased the colt from the Grange Thoroughbreds draft at the 2014 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

After winning the VOBIS Gold Carat last start Henry Dwyer decided against a spell for Rocky Boomboa (Artie Schiller x Rockellen) in hopes of doubling the horse’s career earnings on Saturday. The young Victorian trainer’s $36,000 Inglis Premier purchase has already secured over $135,000 for his connections and first place prizemoney in the Inglis Dash is $137,500.

Trainers to be lured south from New South Wales are the Goulburn based Kurt Goldman with Hellbent (I Am Invincible x Volkaspray), which is no stranger to Inglis Race Series riches having placed second in the Inglis Sprint last start; and Randwick trainer John Thompson, whose filly Mossin’ Around (Mossman x Rhythmic Affair) was given an ideal preparation run for the Inglis Dash when finishing second down Flemington straight at her last start on New Years Day.

Prizemoney is not the only attraction for trainers and connections, however, with a pair of $3,000 Swarovski Optik EL 42 Swarovision binoculars provided to the winning trainer. A win in any race of the Inglis Race Series also means Antler luggage for winning connections, jockey and trainer, and one step closer to the $50,000 Trainers bonus, paid to the trainer with the most wins in each series

The $250,0000 Inglis Dash is Race 6 at 3:26pm at Flemington this Saturday 16 January 2016. The race is restricted to three-year-olds nominated into the Inglis Race Series.
