Decorum shares among many strong results in Sept (Late) Sale

Progressive 4YO Decorum (Snitzel) has been valued by the market at $1.2m after four shares in him all sold in today’s Inglis Digital September (Late) Online Sale.

The four 2.5% shares in the son of extraordinary producer Ms Bad Behavior grossed a combined $120,000 and were bought by four different individual purchasers.

The new owners will be hoping Decorum can emulate the likes of Baraqiel, Benedetta, Callsign Mav, Charm Stone, Light Infantry Man, Private Eye, Private Harry and Port Lockroy, each of whom went on to win in G1 company having had shares offered on Inglis Digital.

Easter graduate Decorum is a brother to G1 winner-turned-stallion and Easter graduate Switzerland as well as $2.8m Easter colt St Gotthard, a winner of two of his three starts and a $3.90 second favourite in Saturday’s G1 Golden Rose.

Ms Bad Behavior has proven to be a blue hen mare for Arrowfield in a remarkably short period of time.

She has only had three foals to race – Switzerland won the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and now stands at Coolmore, St Gotthard is well on his way to cementing a future career at stud and Decorum has won four of his six starts and is a potential starter in the $10m G1 Golden Eagle next month.

She also has an unraced 2YO that realised $2m at this year’s Easter Yearling Sale to James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership, Tony Fung Colts and Tom Magnier and a yearling colt – also both by Snitzel – the latter which will be offered by Arrowfield at next year’s Easter Sale at Riverside in early April.

Jon Freyer of Arrowfield Stud, part-owners of Decorum, said: “Hopefully our new partners in Decorum get a good result on Saturday, he has come back a much-improved horse, he showed a lot in his first prep and could even be on a Golden Eagle trajectory so it could be a big couple of months for the owners.

“The first three foals out of the mare [Ms Bad Behavior] have been really high class, she’s got a very good 2YO and she’s obviously got a very good yearling going to Easter next year.

“I think the Easter-bound yearling is a magnificent colt, he’s actually the most like her of all of them so far, magnificent head, great depth, beautiful mover, it’s hard not to like him.

“Switzerland was a beautiful yearling and this yearling colt is right up there with him.’’

One of the four buyers of a Decorum share in today’s September (Late) Sale was Jo Borg, who admitted to buying the share “on a whim’’.

“I read that it might be going to the Golden Eagle and I thought it would be good to have shares in a second horse going to that race, given I own part of Amazing Journey which is coming out from Europe for the race,’’ Borg said.

“I’ve bought off Inglis Digital before and I’ve had some good results off the platform so I’m happy to keep supporting it because I find it easy to use, although sometimes I get carried away!’’

Today’s September (Late) Sale resulted in six horses realising six figures to six different buyers – Just Magic ($140,000 to Premium Bloodstock Services), Quietness ($125,000 to Shane Morrissy), Drumfire ($110,000 to Kool Racing), Go Daddy ($105,000 to Fast Lane Syndications), Motoscafo ($105,000 to Hall of Fame Bloodstock) and Eviction Notice ($100,000 to Brinawa Holdings).

There have now been 232 lots to realise $100,000 or more on Inglis Digital since 2025.

On Quietness, Morrissy said: “She’ll head to Simon Ryan at Warrnambool to see if we can add some more black type to an outstanding international pedigree before heading to the breeding barn in 2027.’’

In total the September (Late) Sale grossed $2,479,950.

Entries are now open for the October (Early) Sale, which will run from October 2-7.

Already confirmed for the sale is Oh Diamond Lil (So You Think), a seven-time winner including at G3 level for David Pfieffer.

She will be offered as a racing and breeding prospect.
